🌍 Meet the HYNET Project: POWERING EUROPE WITH SEAMLESS AC-DC INTEGRATION ⚡
We are excited to introduce HYNET, a pioneering initiative that is set to reshape the future of electricity grids across Europe. Funded by the European Commission under the Research and Innovation Action framework (Grant Agreement No. 101172757), this groundbreaking project brings together leading energy stakeholders to drive innovation and develop transformative solutions for hybrid electricity systems.
HYNET has the ambitious goal of developing and demonstrating a new generation of AC/DC hybrid power systems that will play a crucial role in Europe’s energy transition. The project, which runs from October 2024 to September 2027, focuses on several key objectives:
🔹 Innovative Hybrid Power Systems: Developing cutting-edge technologies for the transnational design and planning of AC/DC hybrid electricity networks.
🔹 Standardization & Interoperability: Establishing frameworks for multi-terminal, multi-vendor MVDC and LVDC systems to ensure smooth and efficient integration across Europe.
🔹 Grid Forming Capabilities: Defining and validating functional requirements for AC and DC systems to work together seamlessly.
🔹 Technoeconomic Evaluation: Demonstrating the advantages of DC power systems at all voltage levels, and comparing them with traditional AC grids.
🔹 Real-World Demonstrations: Showcasing HYNET’s innovations in 4 countries, testing and proving the viability of hybrid AC/DC grids in existing and future infrastructure.
At UBITECH ENERGY, we are proud to lead the overall coordination of this project, ensuring that the vision becomes a reality. Our role includes:
⚙️ Coordination of the HYNET Virtual Lab: Integrating hardware, software, and simulation platforms for validation and testing of HYNET’s technologies.
🔌 Driving Interoperability: Ensuring the seamless integration of multi-vendor, multi-terminal hybrid systems, using advanced communication protocols like SCADA, EMS, and IEEE standards.
🌐 Orchestrating System Integration: Developing a Multi-Target-Aware Electricity System Orchestration Framework to ensure efficient operation and coordination across different components and systems.
