Two days ago, we introduced you to our year-end giving initiative. Today, we're excited to present three more incredible causes that are making a significant impact on lives. 4. 🏡 Julie Smeets-Fonds: focuses on helping at-risk youth regain their footing through tailored coaching programs, by building emergency studios, which provide temporary safe spaces for these young individuals. This fund was established in memory of Julie, a friend of one of our colleagues, who sadly passed away, aiming to honor her legacy. 5. 🚶 To Walk Again: a Belgian organization that focusses on sports, movement, and rehabilitation for adults and children with physical disabilities. At VILS we remain faithful to our traditions of "working hard and sharing it with the team" ! Last Friday, we continued our decade-long custom of honoring Saint Barbara, the patron saint of dangerous professions. Why Saint Barbara, you ask? Well, engineering and constructing life science facilities can be quite the adventure: Clients who occasionally change their minds 🤔 Self-imposed strict deadlines ⏰ Tight budgets to keep costs as low as possible for our clients 💼 These "dangers" led our founders, Veerle and Ief, to choose Saint Barbara. This year's celebration was a blast: VR gaming session (turns out we're pretty good at battling zombies! 🧟♂️) at VR Base, followed by a delicious and extensive dinner at De Passade (because we love great food as much as we love great engineering 🍽️) While Ief may no longer be our CEO, we're proud to keep this tradition alive.
