Inspiring the youth with Audi Brussels! At VUB Racing, we see education and innovation as the keys to a brighter future. Together, we're breaking new ground, sharing our knowledge in sustainable technologies to inspire the next generation of engineering talents. 👩🏭🛠️ Recently, we had the opportunity to participate in the ‘Moving Forward’ project organised in Halle. This project challenged 120 students, coming from different backgrounds, to build their own gocart through the power of technology and sustainability. During the school year these students have worked hard on both their theoretical knowledge and practical skills. But there’s more to building a gocart than just the technical aspects. At our workshop they could unleash their creativity by designing remarkable liveries, like Audi Brussels did for our breathtaking Zephyr. 🏎️🏁 STEM events spark the curiosity of young minds, inviting them to dive into a world where creativity and hands-on learning meet. These budding engineers are stepping into a space where motors turn, batteries charge, and ideas come to life. We hope to shape dreams and forge connections that will drive progress for years to come. Last week we were very happy to be present at the official roll-out of Zephyr, this year's formula car manufactured by the VUB Racing team! Zephyr is the highlight of countless hours of hard work, innovation, and dedication from the students of this incredible team. Our department was involved in the genesis of this impressive car through modelling and testing of natural composites reinforced with flax fibers. This was done in the framework of the Bachelor thesis supervision of two Industrial Engineering students, who worked on the numerical development and the experimental characterization of the composite-made wings of the car. Congratulations to Milan and Xander as well as to the whole team for the great result. Looking forward to future collaborations!

Our car's circuitry is entirely developed in-house. After designing the architecture, it's segmented into various parts and delegated across the electrical department. Lots of PCB production is needed to accomplish this task. Throughout these demanding production phases in the spring Eleshop’s tools have been indispensable, enabling us to meet deadlines and deliver exceptional results. We're truly grateful for this collaboration, as it continues to fuel the production of our vehicle's internal components. Second place at the AUDI AG FS Winter Workshop! Excited to reflect on an incredible weekend with VUB Racing. Our team's dedication and creativity drove us to a remarkable achievement - securing second place in the elimination race, being the first and only Belgian team on the list. Winning a FIA approved driver suit was not only evidence of our hard work but also a symbol of the collaborative spirit that drives us forward. The experience of engaging with fellow enthusiasts and industry professionals was of immeasurable value, offering priceless insights and connections for the future of our team.
