Dr. Max Biegler of Fraunhofer IPK Project Office for Advanced Manufacturing at ITA and Keke Yang of Paderborn University, presented highlights of the Phase 2 Report. This study determined that advancements in metallurgy, production and welding techniques have significantly reduced AHSS’s sensitivity to LME. Additionally, it found that manufacturers can use optimized welding processes to further reduce LME risk in large-scale production.
