Accountant (Fixed-Term Contract)

The Company

In replacement for a maternity leave, Apheon is currently looking for an Accountant during a period of 5-6 months, starting mid-January 2025. The position reports directly to the CFO of Apheon.

Job Description

As an Accountant you will have the following responsibilities:

• Act as the custodian of good professional accounting practice.
• Maintain all general ledgers including entering and posting journal entries adding/deleting accounts.
• Prepare quarterly reporting for Belgian entities.
• Assist the Financial Controller with quarterly reporting for the foreign subsidiaries.
• Liaise regularly with assistants and external accountants with respect to invoices approval for foreign subsidiaries.
• Manage payables and receivables.
• Prepare intra-group outgoing invoices.
• Participate in local treasury function in collaboration with Financial Controller (incl. preparation of payments).
• Help in maintaining a close relationship with banks.
• Reconcile bank statements, generate and review financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement).
• Prepare all Belgian VAT filings and related listing filings.
• Prepare local Belgian GAAP financial statements for the entities of group (currently six entities) to be publish at the national bank.
• Prepare national bank or FSMA/BNB reportings/surveys.
• Prepare all compliance and reporting related tasks for Belgium in collaboration with the Financial Controller and CFO.
• Prepare legal documentation and other governance related documents as required (i.e., management report, shareholder meeting minutes, board meeting minutes).
• Work with local auditor and other advisors during annual close.
• Manage the digital monthly expenses process for Apheon Group.
• Maintain UBO registers.
• Prepare reporting for the Apheon Foundation and work in collaboration with the ESG team.

Education and Experience

• The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and has more than 5 years of experience in a similar role either within a company or public accounting, experience in an investment company is a strong plus
• Language: perfect knowledge of English and French. Knowledge of Dutch is an asset.
• Master in Exact online (accounting software).
• Knowledge of Adsolut software for filing annual accounts is a plus.
• Knowledge of Rydoo software for expenses is a plus.
