We are looking for a Assistant Manager, Payroll to manage client payroll implementations and monthly payroll processing in Benelux region. The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert, leading payroll setups, providing guidance to clients, and coaching junior team members.

Roles & Responsibilites:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, guiding them through the payroll setup process, addressing inquiries, and ensuring smooth onboarding
  • Oversee payroll implementations, ensuring full compliance with Benelux payroll regulations, local legal requirements, and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs)
  • Manage and support the full payroll cycle, including data migration, payroll parallels, and system configurations for new clients
  • Train and mentor junior payroll specialists, ensuring they are equipped to handle regular payroll processing
  • Review and approve monthly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Provide ongoing support to clients, addressing payroll-related questions and resolving complex issues
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Ensure strict compliance with Benelux statutory requirements, including tax filings, social security contributions, and other mandatory reporting obligations
  • Proactively stay informed about changes in Benelux payroll laws and regulations, and effectively communicate updates to clients and team members


Requirements

Technical Capacities:

  • 7+ years of hands on experience in processing payroll in-house end-to-end in the Benelux region, including handling payroll implementations and processing for complex cases
  • Expertise in Benelux payroll laws, tax regulations, and Collective Bargaining Agreements
  • Experience managing data migration, payroll parallels, and system configuration
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills, with the ability to guide clients through payroll-related processes
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal

Personal Abilities:

  • Proven leadership and coaching skills, with experience training and mentoring junior team members
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Detail-oriented, with a high level of accuracy in payroll processing
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts and handle complex inquiries
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach to delivering excellent service

 

Working Model:

This position is in the Local country team. Our payroll operations are supported by a collaborative working model that combines centralized and local expertise. The centralized teams are responsible for handling the main payroll processing, adhering to a standardized workflow across all regions. The local country teams provide training, guidance, and support to the centralized teams, while focusing on client-facing tasks. Local teams lead implementations, configure payroll engines, conduct final reviews and signoffs, manage local payroll submissions, and address client inquiries. Although the local teams hold senior positions and work closely with the centralized teams, the latter maintain their own standardized processes and do not report directly to the local teams. This approach ensures both efficiency and high-quality service delivery.
