What your job looks like
As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you’ll play a key role in translating data into actionable business insights that drive strategic decisions. That will include the following responsibilities:
- Needs gathering: Collaborate with business stakeholders (sales, marketing, finance, HR and product) to understand their function-specific needs. For example, the revenue and marketing teams require actionable insights into our customer base and marketing activities to shape our go-to-market strategy and identify growth opportunities.
- Data querying and modelling: Extract and process data from databases and business applications (such as Hubspot, Salesforce and Google Analytics) to deliver insightful analyses. This might involve leveraging SQL to extract and manipulate data from our data lake.
- Analysis and reporting: Turn your analyses into actionable visual dashboards using tools like PowerBI. Present findings to stakeholders, highlighting key trends and actionable insights.
- Data structuring and integrity: Maintain and optimize our applications needed in terms of data lake, data analytics and reporting infrastructure to ensure data integrity across reports. In doing so, you will be supported by the Business Operations Manager and your Business Intelligence and tech infrastructure colleagues.
- Process Improvements: Proactively drive improvements in our data and reporting strategy by recommending improvements to tools, processes and reporting methods.
Whom we are looking for
- You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- You have 2-3 years of relevant experience in business intelligence, data analysis, data management, or a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent) and proficiency in SQL (querying, data manipulation, performance optimization).
- Ability to understand and translate business needs into data-driven solutions. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to convey complex data concepts to non-technical audiences.
- You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various departments and external vendors.
- Familiarity with scripting and programming languages such as Python or R to conduct more advanced analysis, automate processes, and derive deeper insights when needed.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
- You thrive in a dynamic and fast-growing environment, where you go the extra mile to get things done.
- You are fluent in English and bilingual in Dutch or French.
