Chief Risk Officer Benelux

In supporting our Risk department, we are searching for a Chief Risk Officer (CRO) BENELUX for the full-time position and with location in Zaventem (Belgium).

As CRO Benelux, you will take over the management of the Risk department for Arval Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxemburg. You will be responsible for all risk-related questions and will be the primary contact person for the General Management in all risk-related decisions for those countries. In this role, you will report directly to the Regional Chief Risk Officer BENELUX/DACH and have a functional dotted reporting line to GM of the BENELUX countries. You are a permanent guest in the local Executive Committee.

Your tasks

• You will take over the leadership of the Risk team and the management of risk topics in all three countries
• You will contribute to the achievement of the risk targets set for Arval BENELUX
• You identify and measure all relevant risks, in particular credit and counterparty risks, market risks (used-car market) and operational risks
• Further development of methods for risk identification, risk measurement, the definition and implementation of risk policies is part of your responsibility
• You are responsible for risk reporting to the General Management of the respective country and to the Risk organization at Regional and Corporate level
• Ensure the compliance with the risk framework and risk appetite defined at local and Arval group level
• As the second level of defense (LOD2) you will be responsible for reviewing and deciding loan proposals, particularly large loan agreements, the level of car residual values and service & maintenance rates and the validation of annual EMV (Expected Market Value)
• You will be responsible for the coordination and monitoring of the risk budget and forecast processes
• The transversal coordination and alignment with all Risk departments within BNPP Territory and Arval Group and the establishment of a strong and effective risk culture within Arval rounds off your area of responsibility
  
  

Your Skills

• You have a degree in economics, financial mathematics or similar studies
• You have several years professional experience in the field of risk, preferably within a bank or leasing company and have discovered enthusiasm for the Risk management
• You have already successfully led a team
• You also have relevant experience in working with supervisory authorities and external auditors, preferably in the international environment
• You have experience in the field of databases, knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, SAS, VBA would be an advantage
• You are fluent in French & Dutch and have a very good knowledge of English
