Main activities:

Our customer, a leading player in the biopharmaceutical sector, is seeking a Clinical Supply Chain Manager (CSCM) to join their dynamic team. This position involves managing the end-to-end clinical supply chain activities, ensuring seamless supply and demand mechanisms to support global clinical trials. The CSCM will be a key point of contact for stakeholders across Clinical, Clinical Operations, CMC, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory functions.


This role plays a vital part in ensuring that clinical supplies reach patients safely and efficiently, contributing directly to positive patient outcomes.


Specific tasks & responsibilities:


  • Lead oversight, coordination, and selection of supply chain vendors and services while driving strategic or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage cross-functional teams, including internal and external resources, to ensure the delivery of clinical supplies for assigned assets.
  • Oversee packaging, labeling, and distribution of clinical trial materials for global trials.
  • Develop multiple supply/demand scenarios for Finished Goods and Investigational Medicinal Products (final labeled kits) and implement these scenarios using advanced analytical techniques.
  • Use tools to enhance productivity, manage complexity, and improve forecast accuracy.
  • Resolve technical, quality, regulatory, and operational issues to ensure on-time delivery to patients without compromising quality or cost.
  • Create Study-Specific Technical Agreements (or equivalent) for assigned projects.
  • Support the development, user acceptance testing (UAT), and management of Interactive Response Technology (IRT) systems and utilize these systems to actively manage clinical trial materials.
  • Handle all information related to the global use of investigational materials in clinical studies, including forecasting, packaging, distribution, inventory management, project management, and financial planning/budgeting.


Strategic/Collaborative:

  • Act as a key member of the Clinical and Project team, proactively addressing logistical and regulatory issues in alignment with the clinical development program and project team objectives.
  • Translate strategic objectives into executable plans for the team.
  • Influence the overall objectives of supply chain planning and forecasting in alignment with clinical program goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal cross-functional teams and vendors, serving as the primary escalation point for clinical supply-related issues.


Organizational:

  • Manage or support cross-functional projects, such as system integration or process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency gains and demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvement.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or graduate degree in a scientific discipline, with 5-7 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, and at least 3 years in direct supply chain management preferred.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams, with skills in project management, negotiation, and strategic planning.
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end clinical supply chain activities and GxP concepts.
  • Ability to develop forecasts and supply plans for investigational products, incorporating expiry management and complex regulatory requirements.
  • Experience utilizing tools and systems for demand forecasting and data-driven decision-making.
  • Familiarity with IRT systems and stakeholder input for IRT development.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate effectively through written, oral, and presentation formats.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.).
  • Effective collaboration and relationship-building skills with internal and external partners.
  • Adaptability and ability to thrive in a dynamic, complex, and regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including influencing and collaborating with peers, coaching others, and driving meaningful business outcomes.
