We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented General Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team.
Key Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Chief Accountant for France, Belgium, and the Netherlands
Accounting Management
Reconcile bank transactions.
Analyze discrepancies.
Justify account balances.
Prepare statutory accounts.
Record all accounting entries related to fixed assets.
Collaborate closely with Accounts Payable, Cash Accounting, Controlling, and Human Resources.
Alert the Chief Accountant about any identified anomalies.
Integrate payments into the accounting system and banking interface.
Participate in various projects related to general and/or analytical accounting.
Closings and Monthly Reporting
Supervise monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes for all company cycles (account justifications and analyses, provision calculations, accruals, deferrals, and preparation of closing files).
Submit the monthly cash reporting to the Group in Italy.
In collaboration with the Chief Accountant, prepare Group reporting for Italy (account comments – ITA GAAP).
Taxation
Manage local tax obligations, including preparing VAT and corporate tax returns.
Work with external tax advisors to ensure compliance and optimize tax processes.
Ensure timely submission and payment of tax filings.
Administrative Management
Handle incoming mail and administrative documentation related to markets.
Respond to administrative inquiries and manage requests from local authorities.
Maintain accurate tracking of legal and accounting documents.
Profile
A bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent, with a proven experience of at least 10–15 years, ideally in a retail group.
Proactive and detail-oriented, you are rigorous, organized, dedicated, and responsive.
Your relational and analytical skills make you a dynamic, agile, and curious collaborator who can quickly adapt to various situations while working autonomously or as part of a team.
Proficiency in English and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) is required.
Knowledge or experience with SAP is essential.
