As a software engineer you will join the software and electrical engineering team at GEA Halle. This dynamic team brings together a diverse blend of expertise, featuring skilled .NET and PLC developers alongside innovative electrical designers. With members spanning various ages and experience levels, we foster a collaborative environment where fresh ideas meet seasoned insights. Together, we deliver cutting-edge solutions, seamlessly integrating software and electrical systems to drive innovation and excellence. GEA is looking for a dedicated Software Engineer.

Your Responsibilities And Tasks

As Software Engineer you are responsible for programming in the PLC and SCADA code to maintain and add functionalities to the existing software package.

Your Responsibilities

  • Developing and programming of software as part of a team.
  • Improving software applications for new requirements and technologies.
  • Developing customer’s specific requirements in our software applications.
  • Maintain software validation and tests.
  • Investigating new solutions and improvements for our software applications.

Your Profile And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or ICT with 5 years of experience.
  • Experience in:
  • Siemens Step7, Tia portal, CPU’s: S7-300/400/1500.
  • Industrial Communication Protocols (OPC, Profinet, Profibus, IO Link, Ethercad).
  • Motor Drive Controls.
  • Databases (MS and non-MS), SQL (ORM Frameworks).
  • .net technologies (VB, C#).
  • Team player with interest in automation.
  • Knowledge of machines and SCADA developments.
  • Quickly learn new methods, both in your knowledge domain (e.g., Design Patterns) and beyond (e.g., Validation Procedures).
  • Formal work according to specified specifications.
  • In the relationship with customers, you create trust and respect.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English.
  • Willing to travel (in total less than 8 weeks per year, in periods of maximum 2 weeks).
