About The Role

The Finance Business Analyst will be responsible for analysing financial data, systems and information to identify trends, and provide actionable insights that drive decision-making within the organisation. The Finance Business Analyst will be responsible for regulatory reporting which requires the individual to have strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modelling/reporting and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau). Regrettably we cannot offer this role to individuals who do not possess the legal right to reside and work in Belgium

Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Reporting:
  • Coordinate with internal teams to manage the submission of regulatory reporting and ensure that documentation is maintained.
  • Work closely with Data Science and Technical teams to ensure business requirements are correctly defined and reports provided have been quality checked.
  • Build a strong understanding of the business at a level of detail that enables identification and addressing of critical issues related to regulatory reporting.
  • Financial Control and Reconciliation:
  • Daily bank reconciliation
  • Daily revenue recognition and extraction of funds to designated house account
  • Conducting root cause analysis and providing ongoing recommendations / solutions to improve processes and efficiencies
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly controls to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reports received from internal teams and platforms.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decision
  • Oversee the management and reconciliation of client funds, ensuring that they are properly segregated and protected in compliance with regulations and internal policies.
  • Reconciliation of spot and forward contracts.
  • Coordinate with the ops team to ensure optimal cash flow management and the proper allocation of funds to fulfil contractual obligations
  • General
  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and completeness of information provided. Develop and maintain reporting that is easily available to users for direct consumption or integration with other systems
  • Respond to and perform ad-hoc requests for financial analysis.
  • Act as a finance partner to the product, operations, and technology teams, providing financial guidance on new projects, product launches, and market expansion strategies

Essential Skills

  • Experience within Banking / Payment sector is mandatory
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience of Business Analysis or related technical experience
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau).
  • Excellent understanding of financial principles, regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Effective communication skills to present complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch or French is a plus.

Where possible we offer the opportunity to work flexibly and the opportunity to balance some remote working with time in the office collaborating, taking part in events and developing the social connections that make working with us rewarding. For this role a minimum of 3 days in the office in Brussels will be required with remote wording offered for the remaining working days.
