We're looking for a Finance Manager to join our team in Wingene, Belgium on a permanent basis.
In this newly created Finance Manager position, you will join our Westfalia Fruit team in Belgium and be responsible for leading a small team and overseeing all financial activities. Reporting into the Head of Finance for Europe, you will be a key senior figure within the finance management team and will work closely with other departments across the Westfalia Fruit organisation to ensure financial compliance and contribute to the overall strategic direction of our business.
Responsibilities include:
Summarising of monthly management accounts duties, including balance sheet reconciliations and reviewing month-end accruals and prepayments.
Review of fixed asset register and monthly depreciation charge calculations
Post-monthly payroll journals and reconcile payroll control accounts
Forecasting for the full year estimate
Presentation of management accounts at the monthly senior management meeting
Prepare and finalise Belgium GAAP and IFRS statutory accounts within a strict timeline
Manage the annual audit process with external auditors and tax advisors
Prepare and present the annual operating budget whilst liaising with department heads
Prepare and present the annual 5-year strategic plan
Monitor sales & purchase ledger to ensure orders are invoiced promptly, customers pay to terms, and credit limits are adhered to
Review & authorise weekly payments and monthly payroll payments, VAT return and instrastat returns
Intercompany reconciliations for revenue, cost of sales, debtors, creditors, and other expenses
Motivate, supervise and develop 1 member of finance staff across 2 sites
Requirements
Experience we look for:
Essential
Fully qualified finance professional (IEB/ACCA/ACA/CIMA) with relevant experience in a similar role
Experience gained within the fresh produce industry
Strong knowledge of Belgium GAAP and IFRS
Fluent in Dutch or Flemish and English languages
Confidence to self-manage the delivery of accurate and timely weekly/month/year end reporting
Advanced MS Excel skills to manage large volumes of data
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are essential
Willingness to travel to Oostende and to our offices across Europe as required
Desirable
Previous experience of using an ERP system (Microsoft D365 is advantageous)
Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
