General Ledger Accountant (m/f/x)

Position Overview:

Conti-Lines Group is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to strengthen our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for the financial administration of multiple entities within the group, including both domestic and international operations. You will work closely with the Accounting Manager to ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of all financial activities.

Key Responsibilities (not exhaustive):

• Oversee the general ledger accounting for seven entities, both Belgian and international.
• Monitor and record operational results.
• Manage accounting entries for claims and ensure accurate reporting.
• Review and approve the booking of general expense invoices.
• Process payroll-related journal entries.
• Manage monthly closings and provide direct reporting to the Accounting Manager.
• Prepare year-end financial statements, annual reports, and filings, including board and auditor appointments.
• Coordinate the preparation of audit files for the annual external audit.
• Submit monthly VAT declarations in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Support the group consolidation process.
• Act as the liaison for banks, auditors, and government agencies.

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy-Fiscality or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in a comparable role.
• Strong expertise in tax compliance, particularly VAT regulations.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
• Effective communicator and team player with a proactive mindset.
• Resilient and capable of performing under time-sensitive conditions.
• Proficiency in Dutch with strong English language skills.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a similar industry or sector.
• Familiarity with AS400 or Veson software.
