Project Engineer

About the Role:

We are looking for a hands-on Project Engineer to join our team in Leuven. This position is ideal for a process-driven engineer with practical experience in continuous improvement and operational efficiency. As Project Engineer, you will spend approximately 50% of your time on the shop floor, working closely with operations to address deviations, stabilize processes, and drive productivity enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Oversight: Actively support daily production activities, managing deviations and addressing any process instabilities. Contribute to the continuous improvement and productivity of shop floor operations.
• Project Planning and Execution: Oversee and manage projects, including CAPEX initiatives, ensuring that all objectives are met on schedule and within budget.
• Process Improvement: Implement and refine processes for stability, safety, and efficiency, incorporating FMEA and other quality management techniques.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed documentation for projects, including specifications, regulatory compliance, and project reporting.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain regular communication with cross-functional teams to keep all stakeholders aligned on objectives, timelines, and deliverables.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Process, Industrial, or related field), with 3-7 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Process Engineer, with strong shop floor exposure and knowledge of continuous improvement practices.
• Practical experience with FMEA, CAPEX management, and project planning.
• Proficient in English and Dutch, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Hands-on mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to work directly with operational teams.
• Familiarity with CAD software and other project management tools.
