Project Manager

Position summary:

At Bancontact, market leader in electronic payments in Belgium, our Project Managers are key in growing Bancontact’s business both with existing customers as well as with new stakeholders.

As hands on person you will not only consider customer intimacy of paramount importance but you will also play a crucial role in the management of complex projects, i.e. being it connectivity projects with new customers or the management of internal programs.

Bancontact uses an omnichannel strategy which is unique in Belgium and continues to break new ground in technological innovations. As Project Manager, you are part of this unique approach by managing and coordinating our growth in a pro-active, creative and efficient way.

As Project Manager you report to the COO.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the Bancontact Project Manager are centered around the following main areas, i.e. :

·      Onboarding projects

Managing the onboarding of new stakeholders of Bancontact. This can be on Acceptance side (i.e. new PSPs, Acquirers and Acquirer Processors) or on Issuing side (i.e. new ACS providers, Issuers and Issuer Processors).

The Project Manager is responsible for guiding the new customers of Bancontact through all necessary steps of the Onboarding project. This typically covers (but is not limited to):

·      Answering to questions about rulebooks and technical manuals

·      Scheduling of certification planning & reviewing of certification results

·      Initiating set-up of connectivity & communication aspects

·      Organizing the security set-up & security audit in cooperation with the Bancontact Security Officer.

·      Supervising Card & POS certifications in cooperation with the Bancontact Certification Manager.

·      Etc.

 ·      Coordination of scheme release

As leading debit scheme, Bancontact deploys typically 1 scheme release per year. This implies that all Acquirers and Issuers participating in the Bancontact eco-system should comply with the new mandatory features of these releases.

The Bancontact Project Managers supervise the compliance of one or more processors.

·      Introduction of new products or services

The tasks of the Bancontact Project Managers are not always limited to the management of external projects.

Sometimes, Project Managers are also responsible for the management of large internal programs such as the development of a new product or service.

The Project Manager is in that case responsible to bring the product from the inception phase (together with the Product Managers & the Technology Team) to the deployment phase (together with the Sales & Marketing teams).

The Project Manager acts as central person and is responsible to foresee the necessary alignment between the different business domains within the company.

Desired skills and experience:

We are looking for a highly-motivated candidate, willing to convey our brand values in everything he/she undertakes in his/her daily job.

·     Master Degree or equivalent through experience

·     Minimum 3 years of experience in card payment industry

·   Good knowledge of several relevant fields of the card payment industry (card, terminal, ATM, e-commerce, Acquiring, Issuing, mobile payment, …) is a must

·      Experience in project management & customer interaction

·      Fluent in English is a must (reading, speaking and writing), fluent in Dutch and French are clear assets

·      Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

. High level of maturity and problem-solving ability to independently manage projects

·      Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·      Strong organizational and planning skills

. Readiness to participate in analysis and answer content-related questions

. Ability to provide guidance to project participants

. Sound judgment to involve management and/or product/technical specialists when needed

·      Team Player

·      Proficiency in MS Office
