At the ACI EUROPE & International Civil Aviation Organization EUR/NAT Green Airports Seminar in Almaty, Kazakhstan, Airport Carbon Accreditation was highlighted as experts and stakeholders gathered to explore the role of airports in advancing aviation’s climate journey 🌏 🛫 The seminar focuses on practical and scalable solutions for environmental challenges faced by airports in the region. Key topics include advancements in carbon management technology, the production and use of Sustainable Aviation Fuels, best practices in sustainable airport operations and infrastructure, and access to green finance.    Olivier Jankovec, Director General at ACI EUROPE, presented the latest developments in Airport Carbon Accreditation, highlighting the critical role of airports in aviation's decarbonisation efforts. He stated, “Airports play a crucial role in advancing this ambitious goal. Within Airport Carbon Accreditation, the global carbon management standard, airports need to establish robust stakeholder engagement plans and this has really been a gamechanger for across‑the‑board climate action at airports. We eagerly await airports in Central Asia to join these efforts — and become part of the solution, actively driving aviation decarbonisation. But this also requires a truly supporting enabling policy and regulatory framework at national level”. Find out more about the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme ➡ https://lnkd.in/grZvufd

We aren't just working towards net-zero for the accolades, but it's always nice when our efforts are recognized on the international stage. Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) has recently upgraded our certification to Level 2: Reduction. This means that we have made a plan, set goals and are now demonstrating a net reduction in our carbon footprint year-over-year, making progress towards our ultimate goal of being net-zero by 2050. Thanks to innovative projects like our co-generation facility and our growing fleet of hydrogen FCEVs, we're doing our part to reduce energy use and carbon emissions in creative, cost-effective ways. https://lnkd.in/gg6rSS42
