Three years ago, Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine forced millions of people to flee. 📊 What are the consequences in numbers? 📌 6.8 million people sought refuge approximately, mostly in the EU and its neighbourhood (January 2025). 📌 Over 4.2 million non-EU citizens who fled Ukraine were under temporary protection in the EU (end of November 2024). 📌 Almost 1.3 million children have received temporary protection in the EU, and an estimated 700 000 were enrolled in EU schools during the 2023–2024 school year. 📌 1.2 million Ukrainians are estimated to have returned to their country despite the war (by April 2024).
