Every day, 16 Belgians lose their lives to lung cancer, while many misconceptions about this disease still exist.   As a member of the Lung Cancer Working Group within All.Can Belgium, we joined forces on November 16 with Stichting tegen Kanker - Fondation contre le Cancer, doctors, tobacco specialists, and other key stakeholders to bring the “Clear the Air on Lung Cancer” campaign to Brussels Central Station.   The inflatable lungs provided a unique opportunity to debunk myths surrounding lung cancer and engage in interesting conversations with patient organizations like ALK Positive Belgium and PROLONG VZW.   https://bit.ly/4hUlevr #ClearTheAirOnLungCancer

Approximately 1 in 8 men in Belgium will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime, as highlighted in the Move Against Prostate Cancer fact sheet https://bit.ly/3UOQUbu. Stronger together for Rare Diseases! 🌐 Last week, we attended the Policy Forum with UZ Leuven, RADDIAL (Rare Disease Diagnosis Alliance) and RARE DISEASES ORGANISATION BELGIUM at the Federal Parliament. Alongside patient advocates, healthcare leaders, and policymakers, we discussed key steps to improve rare disease diagnosis and care in Belgium. Here’s what we focused on:   📈 Building a national Rare Disease Registry to improve patient outcomes  🏥 Recognizing expert centers to drive specialized care across Belgium  🤝 Expanding multidisciplinary care for more patients and families  💼 Creating a Belgian rare disease plan with clear timelines and dedicated funding Grateful for the insights and dedication shared by everyone involved.
