𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝: 1️⃣ 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐎𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Simulations can be used to model patient enrollment, dosing schedules, and site variability. This could help identify the right balance between avoiding overstocking and preventing shortages, ensuring smooth trial operations and reducing waste. 2️⃣ 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐌𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠: Simulations could allow supply chain teams to test "what-if" scenarios, such as shipping delays or patient dropouts, enabling them to prepare robust contingency plans and proactively address potential disruptions. 3️⃣ 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬: Simulations can assess the financial and environmental impact of various supply chain strategies. This might support decisions that lower costs while also reducing the carbon footprint of clinical trials. 👉 At N-SIDE, these aren’t just theoretical possibilities—they are exactly the kind of challenges we tackle with our native Supply App simulation & optimization algorithm. A couple of weeks ago we had the pleasure of attending the Arena International Events Group Clinical Trial Supply Event Series East Coast 🤩 Once again, we wanted to thank Isaac Greenslade, PMP from Sanofi for joining N-SIDE's Pauline Deplasse to discuss Sanofi's impressive transformation of their clinical supply chain. In the last years, they have managed to replace over 2,500 Excel files with a single, cohesive ecosystem focused on end-to-end performance. Thanks to this single source of truth, they have benefited from: - Improved productivity and agility - Enhanced transparency between departments - Empowered data-driven decision-making Stay tuned because we will be able to share more insights from this great discussion with you in the coming weeks 🚀

The 2024 Citeline Clinical Pharma R&D Annual Review offers pretty valuable insights for our industry! 📑 We highly recommend reading the full (free) report for a deeper dive 👉 https://lnkd.in/etdbpuxk On our side, we have identified 3 trends that will shape clinical supply chain management in the years ahead ⬇️ 1️⃣ Increasing Number of Drugs and Trials With more trials launching each year, competition for patients is intensifying on certain indications, and the pharmaceutical industry is starting to tackle rarer diseases. This leads to slower recruitment and longer trial durations. For clinical supply chains, this means added complexity and increased drug waste to cover for uncertain recruitment rates. 2️⃣ Increased Focus on Oncology Oncology continues to dominate R&D, but this brings unique challenges for clinical supply chain management. Trials often involve complex protocols, sensitive materials (e.g., cold chain requirements), and costly comparators. Additionally, the industry has faced shortages in chemotherapies over the past few years, further complicating supply planning. 3️⃣ Growth of Biologic Drugs and Cell & Gene Therapies Biologic drugs are sensitive, costly, and have specific handling requirements. This adds even more layers of complexity to the clinical supply chain, demanding precise planning and waste management to use these high-value treatments effectively. At N-SIDE, we specialize in managing the complexities of clinical trial supply chains, mitigating drug shortages and reducing waste. Don't hesitate to reach out to learn how we can help you navigate these evolving trends.
