🌍✨ Throwback Thursday: Reflecting on an Incredible EU-India Matchmaking Journey! After six months of planning, coordination, and countless hours of preparation as part of the European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP) team, it was truly rewarding to see the EU-India Matchmaking Event 2024 come to life in Bengaluru last week. Organising this event and being on-site to witness the collaboration and connections unfold was an unforgettable experience. Here’s a recap of our remarkable journey: 🌟 Day 1: A Dynamic Start We began at the Bengaluru Tech Summit, diving into panel discussions on the transformative role of AI and human collaboration. The exhibition buzzed with energy as delegates exchanged insights and explored opportunities. 💡 A special highlight was our visit to POSSPOLE, where startups showcased their innovations and exciting avenues for collaboration emerged. 🌉 Day 2: Building Bridges The second day centred around matchmaking meetings, fostering impactful partnerships across sectors like Agritech, Biotech, AI, and Greentech. 🌉 At the seminar "Building Bridges: Strengthening EU-India Collaboration," co-organised by ECCP and Global Business Inroads (GBI), we saw incredible ideas shared and partnerships formed. The evening’s networking dinner, attended by 30+ Indian representatives and a delegation from Swissnex, was a perfect opportunity to deepen discussions and build lasting connections. 🏙️ Day 3: Exploring Bengaluru’s Innovation Hubs The mission wrapped up with site visits to some of Bengaluru’s most innovative hubs: 📍 nasscom - Centre of Excellence for IoT & AI, showcasing India’s tech ecosystem in action. 🧬 Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre, advancing life science research through collaboration. 🔌 ELCITA, a model for smart city governance and sustainable growth. 💻 IIIT-B, where public-private partnerships are driving cutting-edge innovation. The morning kicked off with a packed schedule of matchmaking meetings, laying the foundation for exciting new opportunities. 💬“I had so many meetings that I didn’t have at any other event. I had technical and business meetings and met many start-ups. The European Commission and European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP) delegation, led by Leena Pishe Thomas, Director, Global Business Inroads (GBI) was honored to meet with the Honorable Minister Mr. Priyank M Kharge, Minister of Electronics, Information Technology & Biotechnology and Rural Development & Panchayat Raj, and discussed EU and Karnataka Clusters Collaboration future roadmap and importance of incorporating skilling, technology and R&D collaborations. The second day of the #BTS2024 started with lots of energy and ended with a bash! Successful B2Bs happened between Indian stakeholders from academia, industry, Centre of Excellence's and SME's with the 13 EU clusters and SMEs with diverse sectoral focuses! The exciting post lunch pitching session followed next where through an elevated pitch, the EU Clusters and Indian S&T clusters and digital economy missions including #Bangalore Bio innovation Centre, #ARTPARK, Karnataka Digital Economy Mission, #IIITB etc. discussed their respective sectoral focuses and ways to foster long term collaborations in the future! The event kickstarted with the dignitaries including the honorable CM, deputy CM and visionary entrepreneurs who shaped Bangalore's startup ecosystem and took it to where it is today, making Bangalore rightly the STARTUP Capital of India!
