In February, we launched our school campaign under the motto #BeTheSolution - Recycle, don't throw away! 💡 Engaging with young people is crucial as their awareness drives change towards sustainable consumption. The campaign consists of two parts: student ambassador meetings 🌍 👗 and a competition between schools to collect unwanted textiles. 🤝 Supported by Sofia Municipality️, the campaign aligns with our Interreg Green-Tex project, promoting responsible textile consumption in the Danube region. ♻️ Real change comes from real actions – community engagement, knowledge sharing, and continuous efforts for a sustainable future! #SustainableConsumption #TextileRecycling #CircularEconomy

Last week, we gathered with our Interreg Green-Tex partners at the University of Zagreb / Sveučilište u Zagrebu to review the results of our large-scale mapping of the textile sector. 💡 This collaboration, which spans from design to the reuse of textiles, is helping us shape actionable insights for a sustainable future in fashion. 🤝 A special thanks to the Faculty of Textile Technology for an inspiring look into how innovation, education, and sustainability intersect in textile production. 📚 We’re reminded that skilled professionals are at the heart of addressing critical challenges like textile waste and environmental impact. Looking ahead, we’re excited to focus on: ♻ Expanding textile collection systems in select countries 🌿 Developing sustainable materials with natural fibers and recycled content 👕 Raising awareness to promote responsible consumption and production Together, we are committed to building a circular textile economy that creates positive change for both the planet and future generations. 🚀 🌏 #SustainableFashion #CircularEconomy #TextileInnovation #GreenTex

🌏 Textile waste is a growing challenge in the Danube region, with Serbia generating over 90,000 tons annually and Bulgaria exceeding 100,000 tons. ❗ To tackle this issue, a recent study visit under the TEX-DAN project in Novi Sad brought together producers, recyclers, and the public to explore innovative strategies for managing textile waste. The visit highlighted the problem while setting the stage for a discussion of the solutions and projects involved. 👉 Our colleague, Simeon Stoyanov, participated in the visit and shared insights into our expertise in circular practices. This included the Interreg Green-Tex project, which works closely with TEX-DAN. Both projects are funded by the Interreg Danube Region Programme 2021-2027 and aim to promote sustainable textile waste management across the region.

🗓 This week, we are welcoming our partners in the EDUwaste project, funded by the Erasmus+ program, to our Varna base. In this project, we are collaborating with EKOCHARITA SLOVENSKO SLOVENSKU o.z., Lukáčovce municipality, POTEX s.r.o. and RECYKLOHRY. 🌏 The EDUwaste project focuses on environmental protection, emphasizing textile waste and its negative impact. Its goal is to reach primary and secondary school students through various educational activities. 💡 Together with our partners, we are creating a documentary that will promote the project's message among the younger generation. 👉 On the project platform eduwasteonline.com you can find educational materials to support eco-initiatives and learning activities. The film will be available after September and all materials are free for registered organizations. Join our efforts to raise awareness about textile recovery. Register on the project platform and share the resources prepared.
