This week our Editor-in-chief Vladimir Stoyanov, Head of video Martin Tomanov and their Sportal.bg colleagues welcomed students majoring in Public Communications to our premisses. 👨🎓 👩🎓 They were given a rare glimpse into the operations of Bulgaria's leading digital sports media and what it takes to innovate, adapt and continuously engage the most demanding sports audiences day-in day-out for the last 18 years. We were honoured to host in our Sportal studios two great olympic champions that brought a lot of pride and joy to Bulgarian fans during the Paris 2024 Olympics: 🥇 Magomed Ramazanov, who spoke not only wrestling, but about the mental side of the battles and why moral values and eduction are so important to the success of every person. 🥇 Semen Novikov, who ended 24 years of "gold medal drought" for Bulgarian classic style wrestling. In every single match he faced either world champions or medalist from world championships. He shared insights into his preparation, tactics, as well as his vision on how important role models are for keeping the sport popular among youth population. An epic UEFA EURO 2024 is forever engraved into the golden pages of football's history. ⚽ Kudos to Sportal.bg's amazing team for capturing every single emotion, fact, story and for once again delivering a stellar performance!🙌 We launched specially developed project and operated 24/7 from our newsroom and studios in Sofia, as well as our special teams who spent 25 days on the ground in Germany (Munich, Stuttgart, Dortmund, Berlin, Hamburg), who were supported by the official UEFA EURO 2024 partners Betano (Kaizen Gaming). Over the course of the project we engaged 3 100 000 unique users who browsed through staggering 67 346 300 pageviews. Supporting aspiring and talented people to excel in the sports ecosystem has always been a mission for our company. Sportal.bg's Editor-in-Chief and Head of the Editorial of Ringier Sports Media Group Vladimir Stoyanov shared some of his value experience with students from the "Sports Management" MBA programme at the National Sports Academy "Vassil Levski". The academy is an undisputed leader in higher sports education not only in Bulgaria, but also in the entire Eastern European region. A few days earlier Vladimir Stoyanov, Martin Tomanov, Head of video for Ringier Sports Media Group and also former student at NSA himself, welcomed the students at our premisses in Sofia. The main discussion topic of the visit was the coverage of sports events and contact with the mass media. We wish them a lot of persevearance in their studies and to hopefully one day welcome them in the professional sports community.

Congratulations to our Sportal.bg Editor-in-Chief and Editorial head of the international Ringier Sports Media Group - Vladimir Stoyanov who was appointed as the new Chairman of the Media Committee of Bulgarian Football and Sportal.bg Board of Directors member and Head of Commercial at Ringier Sports Media Group Martin Petrov, who will be one of the 5 members of the committee. For us at Sportal.bg fostering youth sports has always been a mission. After all what better way to predict the future than participate shaping it. Last week our team was immensely proud to host the first ever Bulgarian Youth Football Awards ceremony in the elite U-15, U-16 and U-17 groups in collaboration with the Bulgarian Football Union. 45 award winners were distinguished in the following categories: ⭐ All star team of the season in every group 👉 Top 3 players of the season in every group ⚽ best coach of the season in every group (voted by their fellow coaches) Among our guests were President of the BFU Georgi Ivanov, former Manchester City Football Club and Juventus Football Club striker Valeri Bozhinov, Sporting Clube de Portugal legend Ivaylo Yordanov, former champion and striker of Legia Warszawa S.A. Aleksander Gigov - an editor with 14 years of track record Sportal.bg and a veteran in sports journalism since 1988, presented in Sofia his book "Football Since One Hundred Summers". It is an account of the emergence of the game of football in Montana, a town in northwestern Bulgaria, with captivating stories and statistics from the early years of the 20th century. To this day the city of Montana is still not famous for great football success, but it is was the career start of one of the brightest stars of Bulgarian football in recent years - Stiliyan Petrov. A player with a remarkable career at Celtic Football Club, Scotland and Aston Villa Football Club, Birmingham, England. Aleksandar Gigov was one of the first coaches of Stiliyan Petrov in Montana and the book describes the first steps of this amazing player, who then went on to play a record 105 matches with the Bulgarian National Team and earn the captaincy. A large part of the print run of "Football Since One Hundred Summers" was donated to The Stiliyan Petrov Foundation, which supports people fighting cancer. Congrats, Sasho! The "Footballer of the Year" ceremony in Bulgaria became a reality again thanks to the dedication of our team at Sportal.bg. Well done and hats off to you all! 🙏 To preserve traditions, to inspire and to unite - these are the three pillars around which we curated the ceremony "Footballer of the Year", which has been produced and broadcasted live on Sportal.bg for seven years in a row.
