The latest weekly data dump from Netflix, revealing its most-watched shows around the world, is dominated by a newly returned show that no one could have predicted.

Just kidding.

New episodes of Bridgerton rocketing all the way to #1 on the streaming giant seem about as guaranteed as death and taxes at this point. Not only does the swoon-worthy Regency drama remain as popular as ever, but Season 3 is the show’s best-rated season on Rotten Tomatoes. That bucks a typical Netflix trend, of seeing a show generally lose steam and overstay its welcome the longer it drags on.

What’s more, Bridgerton actually represents a full 40% of this week’s Netflix Top 10 list, the release of the new season having pulled the two earlier seasons back onto the ranking as well as the prequel series Queen Charlotte. We’ll take a closer look at Bridgerton below — as well as the rest of the shows on this week’s global ranking.

To learn more about some of this week’s most-watched series, you can also go deeper by checking out our previous coverage of several of the Netflix originals on this list, from the critically acclaimed third and final season of Sweet Tooth to the new documentary series America’s Sweethearts that profiles the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders in all their sequined glory.

This week’s complete list of the Top 10 English-language shows on Netflix includes:

  1. Bridgerton: Season 3 — 16.5 million views
  2. Perfect Match: Season 2 — 3.6 million views
  3. Bridgerton: Season 1 — 3.5 million views
  4. Sweet Tooth: Season 3 — 3.1 million views
  5. Bridgerton: Season 2 — 3 million views
  6. Eric — 2.9 million views
  7. Your Honor: Season 1 — 2.6 million views
  8. America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders — 2.3 million views
  9. Geek Girl: Season 1 — 2.3 million views
  10. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story — 2.1 million views

Next, let’s zero in on the biggest Netflix TV release in the world this week.

Bridgerton — #1 on Netflix

Honestly, what else is there to say about Bridgerton at this point?

Here’s one thing that the show’s superfans might not be aware of: With Season 3 now out, and a Top 10 Netflix show in a whopping 91 countries this week, it’s worth reminding that the showrunner has confirmed the following. Because of the show’s writing pace, shoot schedule, and the tediousness of dubbing it into every language, it’ll be somewhere on the order of two years before we get a fourth season of the hit drama.

That means the earliest we’d get the series’ adaptation of the fourth book in Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton collection of novels sometime in 2026 at the earliest.

For now, though, the above list of this week’s Top 10 Netflix shows makes clear that there’s plenty Bridgerton to tide fans over for the time being. In the new season, Netflix explains, “Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) has finally given up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) after hearing his disparaging words about her last season.

She has, however, decided it’s time to take a husband, preferably one who will provide her with enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters.

“But lacking in confidence, Penelope’s attempts on the marriage mart fail spectacularly. Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger.”
