Oil prices extended last week's losses as investors awaited clarity on talks to end the war in Ukraine and weighed up the prospect of a resumption in crude exports from northern Iraq. Brent futures were down 14 cents, or 0.2 per cent, at $74.29 barrel by 0843 GMT, while US West Texas Intermediate crude futures lost 21 cents, or 0.3 per cent, to $70.19. SolarAfrica has secured a R1.8 billion ($98 million) investment in its SunCentral utility-scale solar project, which will be developed in three phases. The first phase, consisting of 342 MW, will be delivered through three 114 MW facilities, delivering renewable energy to various off-takers through South Africa's power grid. Iraq will export 185,000 barrels per day from Kurdistan's oilfields through the Iraq-Turkey pipeline once the oil shipments resume, an Iraqi oil ministry official said. Basim Mohammed, deputy oil minister for upstream operations, told Iraq's state news agency that the quantity currently available for export from Kurdistan Regional Government oilfields is 300,000 bpd, part of which is allocated for domestic use, while the remaining 185,000 barrels will be designated for export.
