This fall, Bombora is celebrating our 10-year anniversary.
This milestone has inspired the whole team—myself included—to reflect on our roots, the distinguished place we’ve earned in the B2B ecosystem, and what it’ll take to continue to deliver industry-leading B2B data solutions.
As our founder and Chairman, Erik Matlick, reminds us: Bombora was born from a customer-centric, ecosystem-centric idea. To create a B2B data cooperative that could:
- Power a comprehensive, actionable view of account-level research behavior
- Allow the whole B2B ecosystem to serve its customers and prospects better
Today, the industry’s first and only premium B2B data co-op is alive and well through Bombora.
Grounded in our Data Co-op, Bombora created a new category: B2B Intent data—what we call Company Surge®.
This new category addressed a set of problems companies hadn’t even defined yet. And while the Intent data space has definitely gotten more crowded (a good idea always attracts a healthy following), Bombora remains the gold standard that blue chip industry-leading companies, the world’s most influential publishers, and sophisticated ad tech, rev tech, and sales tech partners rely on to deliver superior customer experiences and grow their businesses.
This is a truly remarkable achievement.
In business, the most difficult challenge is inspiring buyers to embrace a new-to-market solution. Ten years ago, Bombora did exactly that—and then built a sustainable business around it. Today, we deliver a suite of data solutions that allow our customers to identify, understand, and effectively reach their most valuable prospects and customers.
All this said, what energizes me today is not Bombora’s achievements, but rather that our work is so clearly not done yet. Ten years is a milestone, not an endpoint. This team has built a foundation that can’t be replicated (exclusive data, patented methodologies, committed partners) and now we’re laser-focused on ensuring the B2B ecosystem realizes the full potential of the assets we have created.
