Many (30 or so) years ago we lived in France and stayed in a couple of the Barierre hotels in Deauville. The overall impression was one of faded grandeur - beautiful buildings, the decor not exactly tatty but a bit old school. Nowadays we regularly visit Northern France and have often though about staying here but baulked a bit at the price and also our recollection of the Deauville properties - would it be worth it ? Being a bit flush recently we took the plunge and were not disappointed. The whole place is decorated to a high standard which is new and immaculate but nonetheless faithful to the Art Deco heritage. Service is flawless - polite, friendly, efficient. It's not cheap but if you are in the area and want to push the boat out it's thoroughly recommended. This evaluation is mainly for the reference of Chinese tourists who will stay. Let me talk about the bad aspects first: the first is that there are no slippers. Good stay, attentive and very professional staff The only downside is that there are no exit doors and intermediate entrances to access the beach, especially when you are the last one at the end of the hotel, while access to the beach is just last emergency exit door, because the hotel is very large and you always have to leave at the end to ultimately return to the same place but via the outside (exhausting in the long run)

Lovely hotel with great, friendly and helpful staff and excellent facilities. Breakfast good, bar area perfect, pool was a real bonus. The room was well designed and beds comfortable for a good nights sleep. The location, whilst about a mile or so from town was good and it was a pleasant walk through lovely woods and magnificent houses. Equally a short drive to just outside town with free parking. Just one downside there was no EV charging points which is a big miss for a nearly new hotel. There was a 300KW charging site a few miles away so we were OK.
