Another Abilities Centre International Women’s Day event in the books! This year was extra special as Team Canada athlete Mariam Abdul-Rashid joined us to answer questions and engage with the community. The excitement and smiles of the young fans, hanging on to every word she shared, was a powerful reminder of the importance of amplifying women’s voices in sport and having strong female role models. It was also my first time hosting/interviewing, and I was definitely channeling my inner Drew Barrymore!
