About us

The Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation inspires our community to invest in excellence in child health, research and family centred care. As the official fundraising body for the Alberta Children's Hospital, all money raised by the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation is re-invested in the hospital and child health needs in this region. Through the generosity of our donors we are able to provide funding for family centred child health programs, specialized life-saving equipment and advanced pediatric research and education at the Alberta Children's Hospital. The Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation is honoured to work with the dedicated team of caring professionals at our hospital and even prouder to be part of a community that shares in the vision of a healthier future for our children.

  • When a child beats cancer, it should be a true victory. It's why we’re writing you today. While 80% of children will survive cancer with standard therapy, most will suffer serious side effects for the rest of their lives. Tyson is one of them. His family's world turned upside down when the diagnosis came back: it was acute myeloid leukemia, an aggressive blood cancer. Community support from people like you made it possible for him to receive a life-saving bone marrow transplant at the hospital. Your generosity moves medicine forward, and in light of the ongoing postal strike, your online gift is even more special this year. We invite you to read Tyson’s story to understand the vital role you can play in equipping specialists with the best knowledge and tools so they can not only save a child’s life, but their quality of life, too. Today, Tyson likes to throw rocks in the Rockies every chance he gets, all because his team moved mountains to save him – and his childhood. We hope you will consider the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation for Giving Tuesday, knowing the specialists you support are ready to move mountains for kids like Tyson, and knowing your gift will be matched by Alberta's dairy farmers. https://lnkd.in/g9QbZ2nz

  • We are thrilled to see Alex Halat, the driving force behind the Hockey Marathon for the Kids events in 2012, 2014, 2022 and 2024, be the first to receive the Community Catalyst Generosity of Spirit Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals Calgary & Area Chapter. As the heart and soul of the Hockey Marathon, Alex spearheaded this extra special community event to raise funds and awareness for children’s health issues, rallying players who sacrificed time away from work and families to skate in the world’s longest hockey game.  Over the course of the four events, $5.5 million dollars were raised for the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation in support of life-saving equipment, treatment for brain-related impairments and diseases and childhood cancer initiatives, most recently for an innovative pediatric oncology clinical trials program. This is a well-deserved honour, Alex!
