It can draft resumés and apply for jobs. It can draft job ads and screen applications. But does AI hire the candidate? No. That’s the human’s job. “I think human connection and conversation are still so critical in the hiring process,” says our co-founder and owner, Kathryn Tremblay (She/Her), in this The Globe and Mail article by David Israelson: https://lnkd.in/eVrCBBUY “The resumé might get the candidate the interview, but the hiring manager vets the experience and skills,” she says. As Kathryn notes, AI can be a time-saver in the recruitment process. For example, it can draft the outline of a job ad. However, she says the human recruiter must refine the ad to “make sure it’s inclusive and free of any bias and add language about the company’s culture and values, along with any interesting job responsibilities, perks or benefits.” Kathryn also notes that AI can help employers screen the increasing numbers of applications they receive—up to 15% more, thanks to automation. But again, it’s important that the human hiring manager be front and centre in vetting all those applications to determine the best, most qualified human for the job. When COVID hit, she switched gears and took on all kinds of roles with our National Recruitment team, diving headfirst into the challenge. Since then, she's taken on everything from procurement and risk roles to those super niche senior positions that most people would find daunting—but not Charmaine. The tougher the role, the more she thrives! 🔥 Charmaine's determination and drive are legendary around the office. She's numbers-driven, resilient and never backs down from a challenge. Whether working with senior-level professionals or complex roles, she's always at the top of her game, pushing herself and the team to new heights. 📈 But what truly sets Charmaine apart is her willingness to jump in wherever the team needs her. Today, we’re celebrating FIVE incredible years with Kat Kaitola! 🎉 Since joining our team in October 2019, she’s soared to become one of the top recruiters on our Professional Services Federal Government team, working her way up to Senior Recruitment Partner while taking on increasingly complex assignments. 💼💪 She’s also a skilled relationship builder. Not only does she maintain strong ties with our employer network, but she was also instrumental in launching and growing our partnership with the Military Spousal Employment Network. 👏 What makes Kat truly shine, though, is the sunshine she brings to the team. ☀️ Whether it’s the quirky nicknames she gives her teammates (some stick, others not so much!) or the energy she brings to our party-planning committee, making sure birthdays, anniversaries and Friday team time are a bit more fun. 🍷  But while she may be the first to cheer you on, don’t let her cheerleader energy fool you—she’s got a competitive side, too!
