  • 🎄 Supporting Veterinary Teams During the Holidays 🎄 At ANI.ML Health, we recognize the dedication and sacrifice veterinary professionals make every day, especially during the holiday season. While many are celebrating at home, veterinary teams are hard at work, providing critical care and comfort to our beloved animal companions. Here are a few reasons why their work matters even more over the holidays: 🐾 Unwavering Commitment: Emergencies don’t take a holiday, and neither do veterinary teams. They are there for pets in their moments of greatest need. 🐾 Teamwork & Compassion: During a time meant for connection, they create a sense of family within their clinics, showing incredible resilience and care. 🐾 Making a Difference: Whether it’s managing chronic cases or saving lives in critical moments, their expertise brings hope and healing to pet owners. As we gather with loved ones, let’s take a moment to appreciate these unsung heroes during the festive season. From all of us at ANI.ML Health, thank you for your tireless efforts. Wishing everyone a joyous and peaceful holiday season! #VeterinaryHeroes #HolidayAppreciation #AnimalHealth #ANIMLHealth #VetMed #Veterinary

  • We are immensely proud of our team for being one of the first organizations to publicly disseminate data and publication on the performance of natural language processing (NLP) in veterinary medicine. This achievement marks a significant milestone for both our team and the broader veterinary profession. Our takeaways? - The profession needs transparency - “Accuracy” is not a reliable metric, stick to better ML metrics - Companies need to be careful when deploying products to the veterinary space; teams need to rigorously evaluate performance prior to deployment Our Commitment: - Our organization is committed to fostering transparency in machine learning and ensuring the safe deployment of these technologies across veterinary teams. We are developing tools that are tailored to veterinary data and are created and maintained by veterinarians - We will maintain a rigorous and publicly accessible development and research process, empowering teams to adopt products they can confidently rely on Access to our public GitHub: https://lnkd.in/gGrW7u5M Access to the publication: https://lnkd.in/gXNMas4G

After months of hard work, I am beyond thrilled to announce the publication of our latest study, “Precision in Parsing: Evaluation of an Open-Source Named Entity Recognizer (NER) in Veterinary Oncology”, in Veterinary and Comparative Oncology. 🎉 In this study, we explored the potential of adapting the Bio-Epidemiology-NER, a human medical NLP tool, for analyzing veterinary oncology records. While the tool demonstrated promise, our findings highlight the challenges of directly translating human-focused AI solutions to veterinary medicine. This further iterates why generalist models are just not enough. Here are some key takeaways: ✅ BioEN showed potential in parsing unstructured veterinary medical records. ❌ Significant gaps remain due to the lack of veterinary-specific training data. 💡 This underscores the critical need for tailored AI tools in veterinary healthcare. Our work marks an important step toward advancing AI applications in veterinary medicine and emphasizes the value of interdisciplinary collaboration to address these challenges. The future of veterinary AI is bright, and we’re proud to contribute to its development! 📖 Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/gHydAyQH To all our collaborators, thank you for your invaluable contributions! #VeterinaryOncology #ArtificialIntelligence #NaturalLanguageProcessing #Research #AIForGood Andrew Poon, DVM, PhD, Andrew Lagree Kuan-Chuen Wu, William Tran, Tyler Poore
