Immune Rhythms: How IL-17 Supports a Healthy Metabolism Your fat tissue is more active than you think. A paper published in Nature recently has discovered that special immune cells called γδ T cells release a signal called IL-17 in a daily rhythm, helping the body create and store fat at the right times. This rhythm keeps your metabolism balanced, and disruptions to it can lead to problems like poor energy use and weight gain. Understanding how these immune signals work could lead to new ways to manage metabolic health and fight obesity. Read more: https://buff.ly/3Vcdtae

Lab Tips: How to Ensure Healthy Cell Development 📄 1️⃣ Be mindful of how long the cells are out of the incubator. Make sure to leave them in a sterile incubator and any media that will be used is aready at 37 °C, as temperature can affect cell adhesion and growth. 2️⃣ Check for Mycoplasma, a bacteria that can stop cell growth. Luckily, abm’s PCR Mycoplasma Detection Kit can detect 200+ mycoplasma species in only 2 hours. 3️⃣ Don't forget to split cells and remember the passage number! It is important to split cells before the plates are more than 80-85% confluent because otherwise they can stop growing. 4️⃣ Check for cell culture cross-contamination. Short tandem repeat (STR) profiling can be done to confirm the identity of a species based on the species’ own distinct STR segment. 🔗Check out our learning resources page on abm's website to learn more about cell culture techniques and troubleshooting: https://buff.ly/4fGTUPN #CellLines #Biotech #ResearchTools #BiomedicalScience #Product
