The Aquatic Biosphere Project is an initiative of the Society to bring the Story of Water to life.
About us
The Aquatic Biosphere Project is creating a world-class attraction for Alberta that brings together the life that exists in, on and around water. It will be an exploration of the relationship between water and human culture, from our daily lives to celebrations. It will lay a foundation of understanding of our impact on this ecosystem and how it penetrates to the very centre of our being. Learn about Alberta’s glacier fed rivers and lakes; water that is tens of thousands of years old, flowing into our sinks to cook with, to brush our teeth with. Learn a true origin Story of Water that begins right here in our Rocky Mountains, upstream to the world. Discover its paths and mysteries as you trace its journey from here to around the world and back again. Engaged in conservation, in research, and most importantly education, this legacy project will have a myriad of positive impacts to Alberta and beyond. Follow along with Project’s development and start discovering your part in the Story of Water.
