Aurora at Medical Cannabis Congress in Vienna Last week, the 2024 Medical Cannabis Congress took place in Vienna. The main focus was on the use of medical cannabis in pain medicine - a topic that will likely become even more relevant in the future as Europe's population ages. The prestigious and internationally diverse event once again demonstrated the high level of interest across Europe in medical cannabis and its potential applications. Esteemed speakers from the UK, Israel, Spain, Ireland, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, France, and Norway provided valuable insights into ongoing research projects and the regulation of medicinal cannabis in their respective countries. Naturally, the event was also a great opportunity for physicians, researchers, clinicians, trialists, methodologists, industry professionals, and national cannabis agencies to come together. In line with its commitment to a safer and more regulated cannabis industry, the Ontario Government has announced plans to empower law enforcement to curb the advertising and promotion of illicit online cannabis sales. This follows a $31 million funding pledge in the spring budget to support these efforts. “Aurora is encouraged to see the Ontario Government’s commitment to help law enforcement crack down on the advertising and promotion of illicit online cannabis sales.
