Kan du bo i Brekken og få servert varm mat fra Røros på 20 minutter? Ja, det er faktisk mulig. Og etter hvert ikke bare mulig, men også tvingende nødvendig skal Røros kommune opprettholde servicenivået til sin etter hvert stadig aldrende befolkning. Interreg-prosjektet Green Flyway kjører i disse dager en test på utflyging av mat og medisiner med drone fra Røros sentrum, og ut til grendene Brekken og Glåmos. Trondheim kommune er partner i dette prosjektet. Det er trondheimsfirmaet Aviant som er operatør. Med færre i arbeidsdyktig alder og en stadig økende befolkning, tvinges Røros og andre kommuner til å tenke nytt på hvordan de kan ta vare på sine innbyggere. En by som Trondheim kan ha andre utfordringer som droner kan være med å løse, ikke minst redusere utslipp av veitrafikk. Grafen under er skremmende og gjelder ikke bare for Røros kommune, men for de fleste kommuner i Norge og Europa. Befolkningen eldes og det fylles ikke på med nok folk i arbeidsfør alder. Det er mange utfordringer med å fly ut varer med droner, og noen løsninger på dette håper vi å få svar gjennom prosjektet som skal vare frem til 2026. Tilsvarende testinger gjøres på svensk side, og ambisjonen er at området mellom Røros og Östersund flyplasser etter hvert skal tiltrekke seg virksomheter som ønsker å teste ut autonom luftfart.
