Did you know? When was the first hydrocarbon pipeline built? The first hydrocarbon pipeline in recorded history dates back to 500 BC in China and was engineered using bamboo. Two sections of hollowed bamboo were joined and sealed with a mixture of lime and tree seed oil. This network, spanning over 95 km, remained operational until the 1950s in the Zigong area of China.
