We are so excited to share this piece from the Vancouver Sun, featuring Dr. Ron Norman, a dedicated chiropractor based in Ucluelet! Dr. Norman’s impact extends far beyond his clinic, providing essential care to remote Indigenous communities, forestry workers, and even Canada’s surf team. In the interview, Dr. Norman shares his patient-centered approach and commitment to collaboration, always asking: "What is the goal of the patient?" He also highlights the importance of preventative care for local volunteer firefighters and other first responders. Beyond his clinic, Dr. Norman travels to nine remote First Nations communities with a team of primary care workers, addressing the significant issue of healthcare equity in Canada. He emphasizes the vital role chiropractors play in alleviating the musculoskeletal burden, especially as Canada faces a growing shortage of family physicians. Dr. Norman’s dedication to improving lives is a powerful reminder of the far-reaching impact of chiropractic care! Read the full article here below!

  • Meet Dr. Jody Freedman, chair of our Extended Health Benefits Working Group. Dr. Freedman and the team are driving important initiatives to improve access to chiropractic care through extended health benefits. Despite the proven effectiveness of chiropractic care, many patients still face barriers due to limited insurance coverage, preventing them from receiving the care they need. Together, we are advocating for policy changes to ensure that all individuals have the support they deserve.

  • The Vancouver Sun's recent article, “B.C.'s Health Minister faces critical decisions in our care crisis,” sheds light on the growing challenges in B.C.’s health care system. Dr. Maryam Zeineddin, president of B.C. Family Doctors, calls for urgent investment in team-based care as a sustainable solution for the province. With nearly one million British Columbians without a family doctor, the need for a coordinated, interdisciplinary approach has never been more pressing. Dr. Zeineddin advocates for stronger investments in health care teams to improve access and reduce the strain on individual providers. As Chiropractors of B.C., we are ready to contribute. Many of us already work within multi-disciplinary teams, collaborating across disciplines to provide comprehensive care. We stand ready to support and enhance access to care for British Columbians, ensuring patients get the treatment they need, when they need it. Let’s invest in team-based care and make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
