We’re proud to share that two of our projects, BDP Quadrangle’s Studio at The Well and Valhalla Village for KingSett Capital, have been recognized for design excellence in sustainable, low-carbon design at the 2024 Ontario Embodied Carbon Awards, presented in collaboration with Carbon Leadership Forum Ottawa. Our studio at The Well, winner in the ‘Interiors’ category, showcases our commitment to inclusivity, wellness, and flexibility. This innovative two-storey workspace encourages collaboration and focused work, raising the bar for sustainable interior design. Valhalla Village, honoured as the ‘Large New Construction Project,’ represents a visionary approach to urban living. This transformative, mixed-use community combines affordable housing with advanced sustainable practices, achieving the CAGBC Zero Carbon Green Building Design Standard. With new public parks and community spaces, it adds vibrancy to the neighbourhood while setting a benchmark for future sustainable developments. We’re excited to share that Leaside Common has officially topped off! 🏗️✨ Leaside Common is a thoughtfully designed, nine-storey condominium located at 1720 Bayview Avenue in Toronto’s Leaside neighbourhood. Working alongside Gairloch Developments, we have created a mid-rise building that sits close to the new Bayview-Eglinton LRT station, offering both accessibility and a design that harmonizes with the established charm of the area. The exterior showcases a dual-tone brick façade with a modern twist, inspired by the timeless streetscapes of European cities. A central glass segment, known as "The Nest," connects the building's two sections, creating a shared space with co-working lounges that will encourage community engagement. With 197 residential units and thoughtfully designed cascading terraces, Leaside Common is set to redefine Leaside living. We’re excited to share that the Bata Shoe Factory has won a 2024 The American Institute of Architects (AIA) International Design Award! This prestigious recognition celebrates the innovative transformation of the 1939 factory in Batawa, Ontario, led by BDP Quadrangle in collaboration with Dubbeldam Architecture + Design. The adaptive reuse project revitalized the building into a dynamic mixed-use community hub, featuring 47 residential units, retail spaces, and community areas. Sustainability was a core focus, with geothermal energy systems and preserving 80% of the building’s original embodied carbon, blending historical preservation with modern eco-friendly solutions.
