The German Wind Energy Association / Bundesverband WindEnergie e.V. (BWE) just released their 2025 Industry Report, and Biome's FeatherEdge® serration technology is a featured Start-Up. Read the article here: https://lnkd.in/edcCYG4e This is a strong market opportunity for FeatherEdge, with the recent German wind auction announcement of 💥 12 GW of permitted onshore wind 💥, more than the rest of Europe combined. Here's why the timing lines up for our innovative noise-reducing turbine add-on: 📍 If you own a windpark that operates in noise modes during the day or night, you understand the financial implication of noise. 📍 FeatherEdge has industry proven, field-validated noise reductions that go far beyond what a turbine manufacturer can deliver – with reductions of up to 6 – 8 dB(A) above and beyond a standard OEM serration at a receptor. In addition to noise, the technology also improves the aerodynamics of the rotor, enabling additional performance uplift. It can be applied to any turbine type and rotor size and is customized for each application with installation in as little as 3 days. From new development, to operation and repowering, FeatherEdge is a disruptive technology that will alter the potential of what’s possible for your wind portfolio. Whether you are a larger corporate power producer, or a community-owned wind project, get in touch to discover the technical and financial impact of innovation inspired by nature. #EvolvedDesign #windpowertesting #windpower #turbines

Another FeatherEdge® deployment is underway! 🇩🇪 Our innovative turbine blade serration technology is being installed on an Enercon E160 EP5 E3 turbine near Bremen, Germany. FeatherEdge serrations were designed specifically for the blade to ensure optimum performance. We're testing the #FeatherEdge effect of reducing turbulent boundary layer-trailing edge (TBL-TE) noise, which is the low frequency noise most detectable to humans. This is the third in a series of IEC-Standard noise tests on different turbine makes and sizes, and test results indicate extremely promising results. In addition, we will also be collecting far-field measurements. Stay tuned for these results, coming soon. ➡️ Check the dBA reductions, siting implications and other technical details at https://lnkd.in/egfNnnha. 📷 On site for the install were Biome's CEO / CTO Ryan Church and CFO Bryan J Murphy together with asset owner Söhnke Schierloh of Schierloh Engineering Gruppe. If you are interested in participating to experience for yourself how FeatherEdge reduces noise and improves performance, please get in touch. #EvolvedDesign #windpowertesting #windpower #turbines

This year has been transformative for the global energy transition, and an exciting one for Biome Renewables. As the world accelerates the adoption of renewable energy, we remain laser-focused on advancing the productivity of wind power. We’re excited to highlight how our FeatherEdge turbine blade serration technology had made waves (or should we say, reduced waves) in 2024: ✅ Rave reviews from Hoare Lea, a leading acoustics consultancy in the UK, highlighting FeatherEdge's potential to revolutionize the wind industry. ✅ Growing interest across Europe signalled by successful on-turbine noise testing in France, a partnership with Schierloh Engineering Gruppe to deploy the technology, and invaluable industry connections built at #WindHamburg. ✅ Test results at Nergica confirm FeatherEdge reduced turbine noise by over 6dB in low frequency bands (<1kH), a significant leap for quieter wind energy. Together with our partners and supporters, we’re making wind energy more productive and more harmonious with the communities it serves. Here’s to an even brighter and quieter 2025! 🔊 Exciting new test results are in for FeatherEdge turbine blade serration technology! New sound reduction test results from FeatherEdge on a Senvion MM92 at the Nergica test center in Quebec Canada are in, and they confirm previous results from a 3MW turbine in France. In both tests, FeatherEdge reduced sound power levels beyond standard STE, with reductions in the low frequency bands (<1000 Hz) of up to 6 dB! FeatherEdge has been specifically engineered to target low frequency bands because they are the frequency bands that correspond to the annoying ‘whoosh’ that is often associated with wind. It is also the frequency bands that travel to receptors. By targeting low frequency bands, we’re ensuring that more wind can be deployed in more places, with minimal impact to surrounding communities. Biome is conducting #FeatherEdge projects with customers across North America and Europe, with all campaigns adhering to strict IEC standards. Next up is Germany! If you are interested in participating to experience for yourself how FeatherEdge reduces noise and improves performance, get in touch. #EvolvedDesign #windpowertesting #windpower #turbines

Biome Renewables reposted this
Welcome to Germany 🇩🇪 Our #FeatherEdge will be flying soon with our foundational partner Schierloh Engineering Gruppe on the latest Enercon E160 EP5. We are excited to be entering this market at a crucial stage for Germany as they accelerate onshore wind development. More than ever, a quiet and efficient turbine wins budget approval. Let’s GO!!
Last week we have received our first permission for the installation and operation of the new ENERCON Top-Model E-175 EP5 with 162m hub hight. Five more of this will - hopefully - follow within the next weeks. In addition to this, we have started a campaign to reduce the SPL of WTGs using third party serrations. The FeatherEdge(R) Serrations of Biome Renewable Energy will help decreasing the SPL of WTGs and the windfarm wake and thus will lead to a higher energy yield of existing WFs. We are happy being partner of Biome in this unbelievable development, achieved by Biome Renawable Energy. Biome Renewables

🍁 The origin story of Biome Renewables could be traced back a falling maple key in the Canadian wilderness. The physics that guided its graceful flight is just one example of the insights from nature that our Founder, CEO & CTO Ryan Church has applied to a range of innovative technologies to evolve the renewable energy sector. We are honoured that our #windpower innovations are included in this inspiring video from the The Biomimicry Institute. It beautifully captures the potential of #biomimicry - looking to nature to unpack design and engineering insights. https://lnkd.in/gRagAfvj #EvolvedDesign #biomimicry #energytransition #windpower

Our team is excited to partner with Schierloh Engineering Gruppe. We're collaborating on noise reduction and curtailment testing of Biome's FeatherEdge serration technology in the field. Together, we’re unlocking the hidden potential in wind power and making strides toward a more sustainable future. ⚡ Here’s to a future where every kilowatt-hour counts. ⚡ #WindEnergy #Sustainability #Innovation #collaboration
Unlocking a hugh potential with the invention of Biome #FeatherEdgeSerrations!
