Black & McDonald partnered with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to replace more than 15,000 outdated fluorescent fixtures with energy-efficient LED lighting. Our work included load verification, crane operation, scaffolding, and tight coordination with station schedules to ensure seamless LED integration without interrupting operations. At Troy Distribution Station, Black & McDonald improved critical infrastructure, installing a new three-phase 7.5MVA transformer and upgrading essential systems. Our scope encompassed comprehensive material procurement, civil works, and structural updates, all managed with MUS facilities to ensure uninterrupted operation. Black & McDonald partnered with NAV CANADA to replace the cooling system at a key air traffic control facility, vital for maintaining safe Canadian airspace operations. Our work included demolishing the outdated chiller and cooling tower systems and installing a modern, efficient cooling system to ensure uninterrupted service during the upgrade. On November 9th, ten members of the B&M Power of Women team took a plunge into Lake Ontario at Bond Head Beach. The B&M team raised $1,155 for Bethesda House ON, supporting survivors of gender-based violence with safe havens and resources. Collectively, the campaign of Cold Plunge for Resilience raised a total of $8,295. B&M also donated 100 toques, and participants wore them proudly, symbolizing our commitment to ending domestic violence.
