Congratulations to Andrea Gruza and Sam Doyle on their recent promotions!
It is with a great deal of pride that I announce the promotion of two of my Bonnefield partners - Andrea Gruza to President, and Sam Doyle to Managing Partner. My goal in making these well-deserved promotions is to ensure that, after 15 years of growth and over $1.5b in assets, Bonnefield has a senior management team that extends beyond our founders and is capable of continuing to deliver attractive risk-adjusted returns to investors, much needed financial support for farmers and agribusiness owners, and to continue to grow our firm and our product offerings. Andrea, Sam and Richard D’Archivio, our CFO & CCO, are supported by a broad and talented team of agriculture, investment, capital market and finance professionals who I am proud to have as my colleagues in the Bonnefield adventure. Thank you for your continued support of Bonnefield and our mission to provide alternative sources of capital to Canadian farmers and agribusiness owners. World Soil Day aims to raise awareness of the relationship between soil and water in achieving sustainable and resilient agri-food systems. In the face of climate change and human activity, our soils are being degraded, putting excessive pressure on our agricultural systems. At Bonnefield, we recognize healthy soils as fundamental to our investment strategies, farmland maintenance and the long-term viability of the global food supply. Sustainable soil management practices, such as minimum tillage, crop rotations, organic matter addition, and cover cropping, improve soil health, reduce erosion and pollution, and enhance water infiltration and storage. Bonnefield works with its farmers to monitor and enable these practices through annual agrologist assessments and capital expenditures directed at maintaining the integrity and long-term productivity of the land. If you are interested in learning more about how Bonnefield supports Canadian farmers to protect the integrity of the soil, please reach out to investors@bonnefield.com.

On World Habitat Day, Bonnefield recognizes the importance of farmland practices that protect habitats as essential for maintaining biodiversity, improving water quality, and ensuring sustainable agricultural productivity. These practices aim to reduce environmental impacts, enhance ecosystem services, and create wildlife-friendly landscapes. Riparian buffers, vegetated areas along water bodies, filter runoff, reduce erosion, and enhance water quality. Planting crops like clover or rye during off-seasons provides habitat for beneficial insects. No-till or reduced-till farming minimizes soil disturbances by leaving crop residue on fields, enhancing the biodiversity in the soil. Planting rows of shrubs or tress at field edges, also known as windrows, provide crucial wildlife corridors and enhance pollinator habitats. These are just some of the practices that our high-quality farm partners engage in directed at protecting the habitat and integrity of the land for the long term. If you are interested in learning more about how Bonnefield’s farmers are maintaining habitats and capitalizing on the symbiotic relationships of biodiversity, please reach out to investors@bonnefield.com.
As harvest is underway across much of Canada, we wanted to share some photos taken by Bonnefield’s team of dedicated Property Managers during this year’s site visits. Every year, our team visits all of our investment properties, supporting the relationships with our farmers and ensuring an open line of communication to discuss value-add on-farm improvements and first-hand visibility into the conditions on-farm. If you are interested in learning more about how Bonnefield supports Canadian farmers, please reach out to investors@bonnefield.com.
