Day 5 of the Canada Beef road show to #Japan and #Korea took us to #Fukuoka in the far west of Japan. Our event was well attended and we had a chance to visit with distributors and a retailer selling Canadian #beef in the region. #Canada is recognized as a supplier of premium high quality grain-fed beef and is Japan’s third largest source of imported beef. #canadianbeef #lovecdnbeef #meat #meatindustry #cattle #export #trade #import #foodexport Ichiro Kiyotomi

Engaging conversations showcased not just the rich flavors and superior cuts, but also the innovative practices that make Canadian beef a standout in global markets. Tasting demonstrations captivated attendees, turning heads and tantalizing taste buds. The atmosphere buzzed with networking opportunities, conversations about collaborations and new market avenues. This day solidified Canada’s position as a powerhouse in the beef industry, leaving a lasting impression of excellence and potential. Again, lots of interest from Saudi Arabia, Italy, France (Air France), Czech Republic, Mexico, Israel, Philippines, Bahamas, Germany, Spain, Morocco, China (No access), U.K. (No access), Argentina, Colombia, Japan, Africa, Thailand, to name a few…We had also the privilege to have a great discussion with the International Meat Secretariat (Drs. Canada Beef was proud to be a returning presenter of the 2024 Taste Canada - Champion of Canadian Cookbooks and Food Writers 'Cooks the Books" competition. Student chefs from across the country battled it out with recipes they created. The theme for this year’s competition was “Global Flavours Grow in Canada”, which challenges the students to explore the rich tapestry of global cuisines and cultural influences that have shaped their culinary journeys. The challenge is to create a distinctive recipe that marries these international inspirations with the best of Canadian ingredients, branded partner products and a unique cut of Canada Beef. The recipes were judged by award-winning chefs and Canadian food writers. The winner teams were announced last night at the Canadian Cookbook awards. Congratulations to George Brown College CHCA team members Francine Adriosula & Negus King on winning the Gold Medal 🥇. Your innovative creation featured beef tongue and your cultural culinary stories were inspiring and the plate delicious. The silver medal 🥈winners were the culinary team of Jillian Sampson & Hailey Whitford from NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology). They highlighted a Ribeye Cap Roulade with Autumn Vegetables. The team created a plate with complex flavours, unique beef cut technique and beautiful presentation.
