As 2024 comes to a close, I’m filled with pride for the strides we’ve made toward building a more connected, patient-centered healthcare system! 🎉 In my latest article, I reflect on some of Infoway’s key milestones, all made possible through the dedication and collaboration of our valued partners. I was delighted to sit down with Carlene Todd for an insightful conversation about the need for a more connected and interoperable healthcare system in Canada, and the work we're doing at Canada Health Infoway to unlock the full potential of health data. When healthcare providers have access to complete and accurate data, they can make better-informed decisions about patient care, and in return, patients become empowered to take a more active role in their healthcare journey. However, to fully harness the potential of data for both providers and patients, collaboration is essential. At Infoway, we are dedicated to fostering national partnerships among stakeholders to standardize and streamline the healthcare system, driving transformation with patients at the center of every effort. Carlene and I explored both the necessity of a top-down approach to building a more integrated healthcare system, as well as the equally vital need for a bottom-up approach to define the tools required to bring this vision to life.
