About us
Since 1955, the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) has championed naturopathic doctors and the power of naturopathic medicine in Canada. Representing over 3,000 naturopathic doctors and students in Canada, the CAND is a unified voice of highly trained healthcare professionals, all graduates or current students of accredited four-year, post-graduate naturopathic medical programs. The CAND is instrumental in positioning naturopathic doctors and naturopathic medicine at the forefront of Canadian health care. The CAND promotes naturopathic doctors and naturopathic medicine to the public, corporations, insurance companies and the federal government. It facilitates communication within the profession and allied stakeholders representing the interests of regulated naturopathic doctors (or those in unregulated jurisdictions who meet the criteria for regulation) throughout Canada. As a not-for-profit association, the CAND welcomes naturopathic doctors, naturopathic medical students, and suppliers of regulated natural health products to join our mission. We work closely with all provincial naturopathic associations and accredited naturopathic medical programs, ensuring a unified voice in promoting the naturopathic profession.
