⭐ Land and Energy Management Association of Canada 2024 Annual Conference Speaker Spotlight ⭐ The Aftermath of the US Election Canada's future has almost always been intertwined with the United States. Every policy and decision made south of the border has a direct or indirect impact on Canada – our economy, security and prosperity. As such, the outcome of the US election in November and the actions of the incoming administration will reverberate strongly in Canada and for Canadian businesses, particularly as the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement is set for review in 2026. In this session, Deborah Yedlin, President & CEO of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce, will unpack what the outcome of the election on November 5 means for Canada and North America as well the potential impacts on the economy, trade, markets and more. About the speaker: Deborah Yedlin joined the Calgary Chamber of Commerce in July, 2021 with a background that includes experience on Wall Street and Bay Street, and more than two decades as a business columnist for various media outlets, commenting on the nexus of business and politics since 1996. Since moving to Calgary in 1992, she has been very active in the Calgary community - as a board member on a number of not-for-profit organizations including serving as the co-chair of the 2016 United Way Campaign. Yedlin served as the 14th Chancellor of the University of Calgary and is currently one of three co-chairs of the $250 million Calgary Cancer Centre fundraising campaign. Over the last 15 years at the regulator, she has worked in roles related to hearings, Directive 056 applications, Statements of Concern, and liability management. In her current role, She leads a team within the Regulatory Applications branch that decides on all new eligibility applications under Directive 067, licence transfer applications under Directive 088, Public Lands Assignments, and security refund requests under Directive 068. Ryan Bartlett has a background in journalism and community relations. He began his career at the AER in 2006 in the community and Indigenous relations area.
