About us

Canadian Feed The Children’s mission is to unlock children’s potential through community-led action in Canada and around the world. Proudly and independently Canadian since 1986, we work through local partners to deliver development programs that have positive, sustainable impact on children’s lives and on the self-sufficiency of their families and communities. Currently operating in five countries (Bolivia, Ethiopia, Ghana, Uganda, and in Indigenous communities in Canada), CFTC is an award-winning, Imagine Canada Standards-accredited agency at the leading edge of development practice working toward a world where children thrive free from poverty. Updates

  • This past spring, Chris Luff embarked on an incredible journey, cycling across Canada to raise funds and support Canadian Feed The Children’s vital children’s nutrition programs. As Chris so thoughtfully shares, it’s often the small, everyday actions that make the biggest difference. You don’t need to bike across a country to make an impact— your donation today can help us reach our collective goal of providing nearly 5,000 children and their families with critical programming this Giving Tuesday.* Give today: https://bit.ly/4iaVECo

  • Today marks the start of the #16DaysOfActivism against Gender-Based Violence, a powerful global movement calling for the end of violence against women and girls. Today, and every day, we honour our incredible partners who work tirelessly to combat gender-based violence. Their dedication to creating safer communities, supporting survivors, and empowering women and girls is an inspiration for all. One such program is a toll-free hotline, run by our Ugandan partner CEDO. This hotline serves as a free and anonymous service for community members to receive qualified health advice from professionals, including the reporting of gender-based violence. Faidha is a counselor for the phone line who tells us the creation of this program was in part because of rampant sexual and gender-based violence in her community. Advertised in local churches, police stations, and health centres, this program is a lifeline to survivors to receive the appropriate resources and treatment needed. Faidha tells us the phoneline has brought positive change to the community, since survivors know their rights and have a designated, safe place to report incidences to receive help.

  • Today and every day, we celebrate the hopes, dreams, and possibilities of children everywhere when they have the opportunity to grow and thrive. Child Ambassadors from around the world shared their favourite memories from this past year with us - and what a year it's been! Child Ambassadors are active participants in their communities, raising their voices, and building their confidence and sense of purpose along the way. These memories remind us of the joy that unfolds when their needs are met. Together, we are creating lasting change. #WorldChildrensDay

  • For the 11th year in a row, the number of Canadians making charitable donations has declined, according to the latest Giving Report by CanadaHelps. This trend presents challenges, not just for organizations like Canadian Feed The Children, but for the communities we work alongside. Disruptions like inflation, recessions, or even service interruptions such as a national postal strike significantly impact our critical efforts, especially during the busiest time of year – the holiday giving season. Now more than ever, we need your support. Avoid delays. Here’s how you can make a difference to reach children, youth, and communities today: Donate online: An easy and secure way to give. https://bit.ly/4fxAxsp.. Give a holiday gift: Consider purchasing a meaningful gift from our Best.Gift.Ever holiday catalogue. https://bit.ly/2PveAOC Pick up the phone: Call and make a donation today with our trusted team. 1-800-387-1221 or 416-757-1220 Your contribution, big or small, matters. By joining the movement to give, you’re helping overcome challenges and continue to make an impact. Will you join us?

  • We want to extend a big thank you to Ipsos for 24 years of partnership with Canadian Feed The Children. This past week, our team was invited to celebrate the meaningful impact that this partnership creates, especially for our Indigenous Food Forest Initiative — a project aimed to reclaim Indigenous food systems and promote food sovereignty through the growing of traditional food and medicine plants, using permaculture as the foundational method.  Thank you to Lucas Martin, Vice President and Ipsos Foundation Ambassador; Dimple Sachdev, Head of Digital Transformation Office; and Cynthia Pachovski, CEO of Ipsos Canada, for welcoming us and championing this important community-led work. We look forward to what’s next!
