  • In Uganda, SRHR (Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights) clubs are giving young girls the tools they need to thrive. Mentors Jackline and Suzan, with support from health officer Gertrude, guide girls in learning about sexual health, gender equality, personal hygiene, and how to stand up for their rights. By empowering girls to stay in school, make informed choices, and build stable livelihoods, these clubs help keep girls in school, break cycles of poverty, and strengthen food security. • Black youth are paving the way toward food security, climate resilience, and economic success. Across Africa, youth are stepping up to learn valuable skills in farming and entrepreneurship to drive their economies forward. Smallholder farming and agribusinesses are excellent means of preserving traditional African farming knowledge while creating new solutions to challenges such as climate change and hunger. In Ghana, 17-year-old Ramsey is carrying on the legacy his mother, Scholarstica, began on their family farm. For his family, farming is more than a livelihood – it's a way of life, deeply rooted in tradition. Through hands-on experience, like planting, weeding, harvesting, and caring for livestock, Ramsey is learning the critical skills that sustain his family’s livelihood. With support from CFTC’s donors and local partner, TradeAID Integrated, Ramsey is gaining more than agricultural knowledge – he's gaining a sense of pride in the power of self-sufficiency. #BlackHistoryMonth #BHM
