Fantastic week at the Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA)'s 2024 Conference & Tradeshow here in Toronto! Was absolutely honoured to have won the 2024 Young Leaders Award alongside Yasmine Koufahi! I am deeply grateful to those who have supported my journey as a Young Leader in Transit (special shoutouts to Bob Paddon, Milly Mikkelsen, CHRP,CHRL, Sarah Feldman, Carrie Hotton-MacDonald, Kevin B. Quinn, Jr., Scott Pass MBA, Heidi Dempster and so many more). This award will serve as motivation to keep pushing for a better transit industry in the future, and I can't wait to see what comes next! I am incredibly proud of my Youth & Emerging Leaders Sub-Committee team for the fantastic work they've put in to contribute to this year's conference. Christina Sugiura & Kyle Rouhani put on an amazing #TransitTrailblazers Part 2 Session on Wednesday, which was super engaging and well-attended. Timothy Young, Kevin KC Wong, Zachary Bédard, Chris French, Laura Catalano-Bragues - your efforts to chat to industry members and youth attending the tradeshow were extremely commendable, and I'm glad to have witnessed such interest in all of the YELSC's / Careers In Public Transit Outreach Program initiatives. Lastly, huge shoutout to my entire YELSC team and committee members for their input on our new 2025-2027 Youth & Emerging Leaders Strategy, which we unveiled at this year's Workforce Development Committee. As Taylor Swift once said, "it's been a long time coming," but I'm proud of the progress we've made, and I'm looking forward to all that's coming down the line! #CUTA2024 #YoungLeaders #Transit
