We’re very excited to introduce you to the Vice-Chair of United Way Maritimes’ board, Cynthia Goodwin, ICD.D. Cynthia founded CC Goodwin Consulting in 2019, drawing on more than 30 years’ experience as a team leader and communications specialist for organizations including the Atlantic Lottery Corporation and Irving Oil. She has been involved with United Way at various times throughout her career and deepened her involvement in 2019 when she became board director and Quarter Club founding member at United Way Saint John, Kings, and Charlotte. It's important for Cynthia to sit on the United Way Maritimes Board of Directors because she believes that together, we are doing important, meaningful work to help those in our communities who need it most. The need for United Way’s support has never been greater, and she believes that we’re all able to make a difference. For her, it’s about people working together to help other people. Q: If someone has never heard of United Way, what would you tell them is the one reason they should consider making a donation? A: “United Way has heart, focus and a strong sense of accountability to the people we help – and to the people who give. Every dollar helps us have an impact.”

  • Each year, our team chooses a charitable organization to support during the holiday season—one that reflects the most pressing needs in our communities. This year, we are proud to contribute $1,000 to Fresh Start Services, a Saint John-based community agency making a difference in the fight against homelessness.     Our donation will support the Hearthstone Prevention Program, which helps keep vulnerable individuals and families housed. On average, this program provides emergency rent relief and critical support to 300 people each year, addressing challenges such as job loss, unaffordable housing, utility disconnections and more. These efforts are a lifeline for those at risk of losing their homes—and a reminder of the power of community care during the holidays.     We invite you to learn more about Fresh Start Services and join us in supporting organizations dedicated to keeping people safe, warm and at home this season.     Donate  👉  https://lnkd.in/enFUxfEE
