Today is long term care awareness day. In Canada more than 198,000 people live in long term care facilities to access 24-hour nursing care and personal support services. Some of these individuals are also living with dementia. Long term care staff play a critical role in ensuring these residents get the care they need. The behaviours in dementia toolkit includes resources to assist long term care staff supporting residents living with dementia.
